You need to name it!
From Symptom to Stronghold: A 9-Step Framework
Let's start with what keeps happening.
A pattern is a behaviour that keeps repeating even though you genuinely want to change.
Common patterns include:
What activates the pattern in real time?
When your brain detects threat, the amygdala triggers a survival response. Many women default to "fawn" (appease) or "freeze" (shutdown) because those kept them safest historically.
This is not personality—it's nervous system learning.
What does your brain predict will happen if you don't perform the pattern?
Where did you learn this rule? Who taught you that this was true?
You learned flawed logic in a flawed environment.
If someone taught you "Being wrong makes you unsafe," they were teaching you a system of control, not a system of truth.
Now we're getting to the stronghold.
The lie you just wrote is what your giant has been whispering. It's not truth—it's a survival strategy that became a stronghold.
When this voice speaks, what fruit does it produce in you?
Conviction is specific and redemptive. It produces peace, clarity, repentance, strength, and alignment.
Condemnation is vague and crushing. It produces shame, confusion, fear, paralysis, and self-hatred.
What does God's Word say that directly contradicts this belief?
Truth without embodied action becomes a nice idea.
A strike is a small, intentional action that contradicts your giant's lie. It's how David took down Goliath - not with random effort, but with a precise strike aimed at the weak spot.
Your strike is the ONE thing you'll do this week that proves the giant's lie is false.
Now it's time to officially name your giant.
Suggested patterns:
Here's what you've identified:
The giant is not your identity. It is a strategy that once protected you but now limits your obedience, authority, and freedom.
Giants fall when their false authority is challenged with truth.
You are not fighting this alone. 💜
